Ubuntu Edge
Director / Editor
The Ubuntu Edge was a smartphone concept developed by Canonical. A dual boot Ubuntu OS and Android phone it was aimed to be crowdfunded via Indiegogo. They set an ambitious target and at the end of the campaign had set a record for the largest amount raised for a project in a crowdfunding environment with a total of $12.8 million pledged.
I created all the video assets for the campaign, directing, producing and editing three films.
Created from a mix of presentations from Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth, behind the scenes footage, intricately shot macro product footage and 3D graphics. The assets created were a mix of teasing marketing materials and product description videos, aimed to excite and intrigue, while also providing key details for would be pledge givers.
